Re: if you cancel sky tv....
NS - There's a few SKY HD streams out there but you have to pay for them and not quite top quality. Much better quality are the beIN Sports HD streams which tend to have most of the stuff on Sky anyway.

Thanks Sniper, i will try it tonight.

The more i think about it i may get a Humax Freestat box and tell Sky to jog on.

I mainly watch the terrestrial channels anyway.

Kite

Ask if they can put a credit in your account as you can't afford that much. They may umm and ahh a bit but they can do it, they just can't promote it to you.

WM... no it ain't mate... that's why I won't pay full whack for it... so it's either through the Android box in SD or half price on a deal...

Given this a go. Just got off the phone to them. My monthly bill was £62 for the basic package, sports & hd but no movies. They offered to reduce it to £45 but I started the 31 day cancellation period.

Hopefully they'll offer it for a bit less before the month is up.

Binned sky years ago.

Bought a FreeSat HD PVR - Connects to the same dish and cables, has hard drive recording and HD channels - Absolutely no monthly subscription required.

Supplemented that with Netflix and Amazon Prime.

West Ham away games can be watched on dodgy streams for free.

Not missing anything, and at least £50 a month better off.

Agree with a lot of that ... you can find the stuff but Sky Sports stuff is not as clear as it is on normal SKY... Movies no problems in HD off teh net but yet to find a Sky Sports stream that's comparable to SKY HD

Kite, if you wanted that pack now, I'd prob have to pay 70-80 quid.

Take it.

I think i will, they did say they will swap my name over to the account holder.

Also the fella i was dealing with asked me who i supported and found it funny!!!
He said it may be better to watch in SD and not HD, cheeky git

Re: if you cancel sky tv....
There is nothing on SKY that I cant get on the net...then on to the TV with Chromecast.

Why would you pay all that money a month when you can get it free?

Sky is for cunts, gullible cunts at that

£900 a year for the odd game of football or a movie. 90% of the time you just end up watching terrestrial tv or the other freeview channels

Everyone who subscribes to Sky Sports has contributed to making modern day football shit.

Re: if you cancel sky tv....
I am right in the middle of sorting out a new deal with Sky, been with them for 15 years and never had a discount.
Have Family Pack, HD Pack and Sports, all coming in at £62.
Told them I want to cancel in the hope of getting a better deal. The best they offered is 35% off at £42 mth for 8 months and no contract.

Said I will think about it and call them back tonight.

Should I just cancel in the hope of getting the 50%.
The other thing that might go in my favour is the contract is in my brother's name, he moved out some time ago and I pay him the money.
Should my brother just cancel and let me start a new contract.

Re: if you cancel sky tv....
You really don't have to wait even one month.

Call them up and give notice
Ignore any offers they call up with before the cut off date
The day after it cuts off, log-in to your MySky account
Voila, offer right there to come back with 50% off

I wish I'd known this before cancelling the wife's account and reactivating mine - had a nightmare getting new cards paired to boxes and getting BT Sport switched over to anew one - she logged into her account and saw the offer there. So at least I know for next year...

Re: if you cancel sky tv....
The stuck my bill up to £90 (included phone line and internet) after my last deal expired... phoned them up and asked what they could do said could knock £6-00 off... said bollocks... knocked off Sky Sports and Movies and saved myself £40 a month.... bought one of the Android boxes for £99.... been great... SKY Sports not in HD but all films are new releases in HD... so 100% won't get Movies again... might be swayed if I can get a decent price on Sports (for the HD)... to be honest though I watch At The Races & SSN more than the 5 Sports Channels and they are BOTH free....

Re: if you cancel sky tv....
I was a customer for about 10 years on the full package. Sacked them as out of the country for about 5/6 months of the year. After various attempts to entice me back they offered the whole package (not HD though) FREE for six months.
Had to take that, had the six months then sacked 'em. Sky guy couldn't believe it!,
Helps that I get Sky on my iPad through one of the permissions from my son's multiroom subscription.

Re: if you cancel sky tv....
SKY tv is absolutely magnificent.

And good luck to them charging what they want.
They rely on lazy cunts like me who can't be arsed to go through the hassle of cancelling and rejoining to get discounts.

If you aren't a lazy cunt and are able to get money off, great, well done.

Everyone's a winner.
Except people without SKY tv.

Re: if you cancel sky tv....

They are up there with utility companies with there rip off extortionate prices.
